Summed up:

As such, we really have one main rule:

DON'T BE A DOUCHE BAG!

That means no griefing, no cheating, no exploiting, no racist or homophobic douchebaggery, no incessant mic spamming, nothing that is going to compromise our enjoyment of the game.

We're here to play as a team, and to have fun. Don't come to our house and shit on the rug, or I will put my foot so far up your ass, the water on my knee will quench your thirst!

Detailed rules:

I got this from VIA, and edited a bit for our Deathmatch server.

While playing on our server, players are expected to abide by the following rules which are designed to ensure the server stays entertaining and fun for all. Infringement of the rules may result in being kicked or banned from the server:

Bad language/Racism

The occasional bad word here and there is ok (we all get angry at time) but persistent, graphic, unnecessary bad language is not acceptable. Persistent verbal attacks on one person are also unacceptable, they, and all the other players on the server don't need to or want to hear it.

Admins must use their judgment to make a decision based on: 1. on how bad the language is 2. the context in which its used and 3. the time of day (language should be kept cleaner during the day when younger players etc may be playing. Its not particularly pleasant to hear a load of bad language no matter what age you are, so keep it fairly clean at all times).

Racism of any form is strictly forbidden.

Admin actions to be taken:

1. Verbal warning
2. (Optional step) mute player, but this generally makes the offender disrupt the game out of frustration so it?s often better to skip this step.
3. Kick
4. Ban (short term)
5. Ban (permanent)

Camping

Admin actions to be taken:

No admin action to be taken against campers unless they are persistently over a long time slowing the game down in an unnecessary way. In such circumstances:

1. Verbal warning
2. Kick

However in the vast majority of cases, no admin action should be taken. Camping is part of the game and it should be left mostly to opposition team.

Clan recruiting

Other clans should not recruit on our server. We and other players do not want to hear their spam and subsequent recruiting conversations. If a clan wants to recruit they can pay for their own server and do it there. Its allowed to have the word 'recruit' in your nickname.

Admin actions to be taken:

1. Verbal warning
2. Mute or kick
3. Short ban

Player Names

Player names should not include racist or highly offensive terms.

Admin:

1. Verbal warning
2. Kick
3. Short ban

General player behavior

Players should respect both fellow players and Admins. Admins have, in general, a thankless job and often have to take time out to deal with disruptions to the server. They play a vital role in the running of the server which benefits all other players, this fact should be appreciated by all who play and respect should be shown.

If no admin online:

In order for us to take action against a player we require a player's steam ID. To find this out you must type the word status into the console. To activate console you must Enable Developer Options in the Options menu and the press the key above Tab key to bring console up. status will bring up the steamID of all the players on the server. Post the ID and any screen shot of a problem player (e.g. hacker) here on the forums and encourage others online at the time to do so also so we may confirm the problem.

Rules for admins

Banning/Kicking

Always provide a demo with the steamID (in console type: record demo_name and then type: status). Kicking and banning should largely be restricted to the circumstances outlined above. In other exceptional circumstances which are not covered by the above an Admin can use his own judgment in dealing with the situation. The following should be considered when deciding upon appropriate action:

(a) are they damaging the reputation of the server
(b) are they disrupting the game for other players
(c) are they exploiting a bug (hackers obviously get permanent ban)
(d) will kicking the player be sufficient to end the problem

Hackers

Detecting a hacker can often be quite a difficult process. It generally requires a lot of spectating to confirm. A good score does not necessarily indicate someone is hacking (obviously) you must look more at how they move, how often their bullets deliver very fast kills, how they deal with a situation when they come up against 2 or 3 players, as well as many other factors. If you are unsure if someone is hacking, ask someone more experienced for an opinion or if no other admins are around, take no action. They will likely be back on the server again at which point other admins will be able to have a look and ban if necessary.

Admin Chat

Admin chat (Y-key + @) should in general only be used for messages which are appropriate to the whole server. If your dead and want to chat with someone alive, wait till they die or the next round starts. The whole server doesn't particularly want to have your conversation plastered all over their screen in green writing. Remember even when dead you can use the Admin Only Chat to talk to other admins (U-key + @).


While this post is long, there may be other topics that need to be included and I haven't thought of right now. Please feel free to ask for clarification on the policy for anything covered or not covered in the above.

Admin'ing is not there for you to have fun with, its there to help the server run smoothly. The best admin is usually the one you never even realize is there. Be responsible with the trust we've put in you!

Please read the server rules before playing!


Additional rules for DM server:

    * Cheating/ghosting of any kind will result in a ban;
    * Game/map exploits such as roof boosting, skywalking, bunnyhopping and crouch-running are prohibited;
    * Swearing/foul language towards other players is not tolerated;
    * Circumventing (or getting around) the swear filter is not tolerated;
    * Racist/Sexist/Homophobic remarks in chat, over mic, or in player names are prohibited;
    * Harassing other players is not acceptable, especially sexual harassment towards female players;
    * Non-tactical camping is not allowed at any time;
    * Chat and mic spamming are not allowed. Do not flood the server with chat messages or mic spam!
    * Stacking teams will result in a warning, then a kick;
    * Respect others, including PsYcHoS members and admins;
    * No advertising other servers on our server! Contact each other via X-fire, MSN or steam friends.
    * You need to speak English all the time! If yon don't obey this rule you will be politely asked to obey it once and then banned for a short period of time until you reconsider your actions.


Follow the rules and there will be no problems.
